I was raised on a dairy farm in Abbotsford, British Columbia. I was taught to work hard, value family, and put faith first. Daily prayer was modeled by and emphasized in my family, and I saw first hand how it helped navigate life’s ups and downs. Prayer remains a daily staple that I depends on as a leader, husband, father, employee, friend, teacher, mentor, Christian, and coach. I cannot imagine life without it.
I attended Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa, where I met my wife, Amber. We eventually moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where I began coaching and teaching in the Sioux Falls School District. I’ve now been coaching and teaching for 15+ years. Throughout that time, I’ve also been able to pursue my Masters degree in Teacher and School Leadership.
We are the proud parents of Amelia, Quinn, and Oliver; I consider it a privilege to help with their basketball, soccer, volleyball, and baseball teams, as well. I’m also active in my church, where I’ve served on variety of committees.
I’m passionate about prayer, leadership, and culture. These areas have always intrigued me and I continue to read, study, and learn as much about them as possible. I enjoy sharing and applying what I knows about prayer, leadership, and culture to sports programs, workplaces, and organizations and seeing them positively impact their success.
